Update Your Bathroom Without Renovating and on a Budget

Completely renovating bathrooms could be too big of a project right now for some. But that doesn't mean you have to disregard the look all together. After all it's one of the first spaces in your home that you use first thing in the morning and last before bed, so what it looks like matters.

We've put together a list of our top 5 key things to change in your bathroom for a quick facelift.

1) Repaint or Wallpaper:

Doing something fun to the walls especially if it is small bathroom can be quite the statement. We love using wallpaper in powder rooms with a fun prints or pops of colour.

2) Change the colour of the vanity:

Did you know you can reface your vanity with new doors or even repaint your existing ones. This is what we did at Project Lakeshore, we advised the clients on the best blue paint that would flow with their palette and they made a DIY project out of it. It's quite simple a coat of primer and a couple coats of cabinet paint.

3) Update the metals (faucets/hardware etc.):

This is one of the most trend affected items in your bathroom. Giving it a quick update can really change the look of your bathroom. We love using black plumbing fixtures when designing modern or contemporary spaces or brushed nickel when we want to keep it transitional and timeless.

4) Change the mirror:

The statement piece, one of the first things anyone will notice. It's like updating artwork or frames in your living room. The mirror can be a key player here, go for a dramatic frame or a simple metal. Just make sure to keep the style consistent throughout.

5) Accessorize:

Time to update that soap dispenser (and other countertop accessories) as well as the towels. Oh what a change these little items make to the overall look of your bathroom.

So there you have it. These are quick updates that can be easily done over a weekend at home without any major renovations. But if you bathroom is ready for a complete change and you're overwhelmed with where to start, let's chat. We're here to help.
